The Social Justice Ministry of Good Shepherd Catholic Community is rooted in the Gospel call to love our neighbor, seek justice, and uphold the sacred dignity of every human person. Guided by Catholic Social Teaching, we work to transform faith into action by responding to the needs of the poor, the marginalized, and those whose voices too often go unheard.
Our ministry seeks not only to offer charity, but to pursue justice—addressing the systemic causes of poverty, exclusion, and inequality while accompanying those directly impacted by injustice. Through education, advocacy, service, and prayer, we strive to be a community that listens deeply, acts compassionately, and bears faithful witness to Christ’s love in the world.
Members of the Social Justice Ministry engage in a variety of initiatives, including community outreach, partnerships with local organizations, awareness-building events, and opportunities for advocacy grounded in faith. We also provide space for reflection and dialogue, helping parishioners connect the teachings of Jesus with the realities of our time.
All are welcome to participate—whether you are new to social justice work or have long felt called to serve. Together, we seek to follow the Good Shepherd, walking alongside those in need and working toward a more just, merciful, and compassionate world.
Spiritual Retreats at Good Shepherd Catholic Community are a sacred opportunity to step away from the noise of daily life and enter more deeply into prayer, reflection, and renewal. Rooted in the rich spiritual tradition of the Church, these retreats invite participants to listen for the voice of God, rest in Christ’s presence, and rediscover the movements of grace at work in their lives.
This retreat ministry is a distinctive charism of the Priestly Society of Cor Jesu, a priestly society dedicated to fostering spiritual depth, interior healing, and ongoing conversion. Through this charism, retreats are offered in parishes and communities throughout the United States, bringing accessible, prayer-centered spiritual formation to people from all walks of life.
Retreats are thoughtfully designed to be both contemplative and practical, integrating Scripture, silence, guided reflection, and communal prayer. Whether offered as half-day, full-day, or extended experiences, each retreat creates sacred space for spiritual growth, discernment, and renewal of faith.
All are welcome—whether you are seeking rest for a weary soul, clarity in a season of discernment, or a deeper relationship with God. These retreats are offered as a gift to the Church, inviting participants to encounter Christ more fully and return to daily life renewed in hope and purpose.
The Sacred Music Ministry of Good Shepherd Catholic Community serves the liturgy by lifting hearts and minds to God through prayerful, beautiful, and reverent music. Rooted in the Church’s rich musical tradition, this ministry exists not to perform, but to support the sung prayer of the gathered assembly and to glorify God.
Sacred music plays an essential role in our worship, deepening the proclamation of the Word, enriching the celebration of the sacraments, and drawing the community into fuller, more conscious participation in the liturgy. Our ministry honors both the enduring heritage of sacred music and carefully chosen contemporary expressions that are faithful to the liturgical life of the Church.
This ministry is made up of dedicated musicians and singers who approach their role as a form of prayer and service. Through regular rehearsal, spiritual preparation, and collaboration, they seek to foster a musical environment that is reverent, welcoming, and attentive to the rhythms of the liturgical year.
All are welcome to participate—whether as vocalists, instrumentalists, cantors, or choir members. No matter your level of experience, if you feel called to serve the Church through music, you are invited to join us in helping lead the faithful into deeper worship through sacred song.
